Dr Jonathan Rees is a highly experienced Consultant in Rheumatology and Sport and Exercise Medicine and has been a consultant since 2004. His expertise spans a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, making him a valuable resource for patients dealing with various joint and soft tissue disorders.

Dr Rees has significant experience in sports medicine, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries. His expertise extends to professional sports, having served as a physician for both the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Great Britain 2008 Paralympic Team. This high-level experience translates into expert care for athletes at all levels. He has worked in professional football, rugby union and with athletes in numerous other sports including Formula One. He is the medical advisor to the Central School of Ballet in London.

In rheumatology, Dr Rees specialises in conditions such as gout, back pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and inflammatory disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. His comprehensive approach to these complex conditions helps patients manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. Internationally recognised for his work on tendon problems, Dr. Rees has made substantial contributions to this field. His doctoral research on tendinopathy from University College London was awarded the British Society of Sport and Exercise Medicine research prize.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Rees is committed to advancing medical knowledge. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in teaching and research.

Dr Rees has worked at Fortius Clinic in London since 2013 and is the Lead Physician for Fortius Clinic. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine. He is additionally qualified and experienced in providing musculoskeletal ultrasound.
